Lichfield Chess Club has been operating in its present form for 40 years. It has at present around 50 members who cover a wide range of ages and abilities.
Club night is every Thursday from the beginning of September to the end of April with matches starting at 7.15 pm. .
The Club operates eleven teams in four different Midlands Leagues, namely Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Cannock and Derby and competes in the associated cup competitions in these Leagues as well as in the Staffordshire Trophy competitions.
The Club's past record of success can be viewed under the heading of Honours in the Main Menu.
In addition we hold an internal Club Championship (held on two nights either side of Christmas),a ladder competition (played over the season) and Quickplay and Lightning competitions each season.
